TUA Holds Baccalaureate Mass for the Class of 2026

Trinity University of Asia (TUA) held its Baccalaureate Mass for the Class of 2026 on June 17, 2026 at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John, a day before the University’s 64th Commencement Exercises.

The Baccalaureate Mass brought together graduating students, faculty members, administrators, families, and guests in prayer and thanksgiving as the Class of 2026 prepared to receive their degrees and conclude their years at Trinity University of Asia.

The celebration took place in two batches. The morning service was attended by graduates from the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE), College of Engineering and Information Sciences (CEIS), and the Institute of Business and Management (IBAM). The afternoon service was attended by graduates from the St. Luke’s College of Nursing (SLCN) and the College of Medical Technology (CMT).

The Eucharistic celebration was led by University Chaplain Rev. Dexter B. Tad-awan. Graduates also heard a message from Mr. Kerwin C. Faustino, RMT, National Marketing Manager of Zafire Distributors, Inc., who addressed the graduating class as they prepared to enter their respective professions.

Graduating students from the different colleges participated in various parts of the liturgy, including the readings and prayers of the faithful.

The Baccalaureate Mass centered on Jeremiah 29:11: 91茄子淔or I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.91茄子 The scripture reminded the Class of 2026 of God’s guidance and faithfulness as they prepared for life beyond the University.

As one of the University’s longstanding graduation traditions, the Baccalaureate Mass provided an opportunity for the Trinity University of Asia community to gather in worship, offer prayers of thanksgiving, and seek God’s guidance for the graduates before the 64th Commencement Exercises.

The Baccalaureate Mass concluded with prayers for the Class of 2026 as they prepared for commencement and their next chapter as Trinitian alumni.

TUA Concludes Two-Year Project with UBCHEA on Values Formation and Sustainable Living

Trinity University of Asia (TUA) held the Culmination and Commitment Ceremony for the Institutionalizing A Value-Laden Education Towards A Sustainable Lifestyle project on June 8, 2026, at the Sinulog Lounge of Mary Alston Hall.

The ceremony gathered University leaders, faculty members, project collaborators, and partners to share the outcomes of a two-year initiative focused on strengthening values formation within teaching, learning, and community engagement.

Supported through a faculty development grant from the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA), the project ran from January 2024 to April 2026. The initiative was undertaken through a shared commitment to meaningful Christian higher education and the formation of students who can contribute responsibly to their communities.

The program featured presentations on the project’s development, key milestones, and research findings, followed by testimonials and reflections from individuals involved in its implementation. An institutional commitment ceremony and recognition of collaborators concluded the event.

The project began with a question: How can values education become more meaningful and relevant to today’s learners?

To address this, the University Research and Development Center (URDC) examined how Generation Z students learn, make decisions, and practice values in their daily lives. The findings informed the development of learning modules, classroom strategies, and formation activities that connected values with lived experiences.

Over the course of the project, these resources underwent pilot testing, classroom implementation, community engagement activities, and evaluation. Faculty members, students, and community participants contributed insights that helped strengthen the framework and its application across different learning environments.

At the center of the initiative is a framework that brings together stewardship, citizenship, responsibility, and spiritual formation. These themes were integrated into learning experiences that encourage students to connect knowledge with personal responsibility and community participation.

Stories shared during the ceremony highlighted how students engaged with values beyond academic requirements. Community participants also played an important role in shaping learning experiences that are grounded in local realities and everyday concerns.

A project video presented during the event documented the journey from research to implementation. Faculty members, students, and partners shared how the initiative informed teaching practices, supported student formation, and created opportunities for meaningful engagement within and beyond the classroom.

As the project concludes, its outputs will continue to support curriculum initiatives, faculty development, and learning experiences across the University. The work undertaken over the past two years provides a foundation for ongoing efforts to integrate values, stewardship, and responsible citizenship into teaching, learning, and community engagement.

Trinity University of Asia to Host CUAC Triennial International Conference 2026

Trinity University of Asia will host the CUAC Triennial International Conference 2026 in Quezon City, Philippines, gathering Anglican educators, leaders, clergy, scholars, and university representatives from around the world for a shared conversation on artificial intelligence, ethics, society, and the future of higher education.

With the theme 91茄子淓mbracing the Future: Anglican Perspectives in A.I., Ethics, and Society,91茄子 the conference will bring together members of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion to reflect on one of the most urgent questions facing education today: how can institutions of faith and learning respond to technological change with wisdom, moral clarity, and care for human dignity?

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape classrooms, research, work, governance, and public life, the role of universities becomes more important. Higher education must do more than adapt to new tools. It must ask what these tools mean for people, communities, truth, justice, and the common good.

The CUAC Triennial International Conference 2026 will provide a space for dialogue across disciplines, cultures, and institutions. Through keynote sessions, reflection groups, participant presentations, worship, fellowship, and shared academic exchange, delegates will explore how Anglican colleges and universities can help form communities that are thoughtful, ethical, and responsive to the needs of society.

For Trinity University of Asia, hosting the conference is both an honor and a responsibility. As a Christian university rooted in service and academic formation, TUA welcomes this opportunity to gather educators and leaders whose work continues to shape lives across different parts of the world.

The conference also affirms the continuing importance of Anglican higher education in a rapidly changing world. At a time when artificial intelligence raises new possibilities and serious moral questions, institutions are called to form learners who can think critically, act ethically, and serve with compassion.

TUA91茄子檚 hosting of CUAC 2026 reflects its commitment to education that prepares people not only for professional life, but also for meaningful service to communities and society.

The CUAC Triennial International Conference 2026 will take place in July 2026, with Trinity University of Asia serving as the host institution in the Philippines.

Why Professionals Pursue the Teacher Certificate Program

Many professionals eventually move into roles where knowledge must be taught and shared with others. As people from different fields bring their expertise into education, teaching also calls for preparation in understanding learners and the responsibilities carried inside the classroom. This is where professional education becomes important.

The Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) provides non-education graduates with the professional education foundation needed for teaching and licensure preparation. Through the program, students complete professional education units that help prepare them for classroom instruction and future educational practice.

For the Midyear Term, the program will offer the first 9 units of the 18-unit TCP curriculum through evening schedules designed to accommodate graduate students and working professionals. The remaining units may then be completed during SY 2026-2027.

The Midyear TCP lineup includes courses such as The Teaching Profession, Facilitating Learner-Centered Teaching, and other foundational professional education subjects that introduce students to the principles, responsibilities, and realities of teaching.

As more professionals explore opportunities to teach, programs such as TCP continue to provide a structured way to prepare for the work education requires.

Those interested in the Midyear Teacher Certificate Program may learn more about the schedules, subjects, and reservation process through the official TCP webpage.

TUA Freshmen Communication and Broadcasting Students Gain First-Hand Media Industry Exposure at GMA Network /university-news/tua-communication-broadcasting-freshmen-gma-network-industry-immersion/ Mon, 01 Jun 2026 11:06:47 +0000 /?p=19708 The post TUA Freshmen Communication and Broadcasting Students Gain First-Hand Media Industry Exposure at GMA Network appeared first on Trinity University of Asia.

TUA Freshmen Communication and Broadcasting Students Gain First-Hand Media Industry Exposure at GMA Network

For many students, college begins inside a classroom. For 33 freshmen from Trinity University of Asia91茄子檚 BA Communication and BA Broadcasting programs, it also began inside one of the country91茄子檚 leading broadcast networks.

On May 19, 2026, first-year students from the Media and Communication Department visited GMA Network for the GMA Studio Tour, an industry immersion activity connected to their BR100 and COMM100 Introduction to Broadcasting and Communication courses. The students were accompanied by three faculty members, Department Head Dr. Walter 聽Yudelmo, Media and Communication Assoc. Professor Mr. Froilan Laurente, and Asst. Dean Mr. Divino Cantal.

The activity gave students a closer look at how broadcasting works in real professional settings. More importantly, it showed them that a communication education at TUA is not limited to lectures, textbooks, and classroom discussions. At TUA, students begin to meet the industry early.

First-Year Students, First-Hand Media Exposure

For incoming college students who dream of working in media, the first year matters. It is the stage where students begin to understand what the field requires from them: discipline, clarity, creativity, confidence, technical skill, and responsibility.

The GMA Studio Tour was designed to help students become familiar with the operations of a broadcasting company, observe television production, and learn directly from media practitioners. These objectives allowed students to connect what they study in class with what they saw inside the network.

Through the visit, the freshmen had a better sense of the professional world that awaits them. They saw that media work is not just about being seen or heard. It is also about preparation, teamwork, timing, ethics, and service to audiences.

Learning from a TUA Alumna in the Media Industry

One of the highlights of the visit was the students91茄子 interaction with Ms. Vonne Aquino, a TUA alumna and GMA Senior Correspondent.

Ms. Aquino gave a lecture to the students and shared insights from her experience in the field. The students also had the opportunity to ask questions directly, allowing them to learn from someone who once stood where they are now: a TUA student preparing for a future in media.

For prospective students, this is an important reminder. A degree in Communication or Broadcasting is not just a program on paper. It is a path that can lead to real work in major media institutions, especially when students are trained early to think, speak, write, produce, and communicate with purpose.

Inside the Newsroom and Production Studios

During the tour, students visited the newsroom and production studios, where they learned about the different functions of studio equipment, lights, and production spaces.

For BA Communication and BA Broadcasting students, this kind of exposure makes classroom lessons more concrete. Topics such as news production, studio work, camera language, lighting, performance, directing, and program flow become easier to understand when students see how these elements operate in an actual broadcast environment.

The students also had the chance to ask questions about how news programs are produced. This helped them understand the level of coordination required in professional broadcasting, from planning and research to execution and delivery.

From Radio Booth to On-Air Experience

The students also visited the radio facilities of Barangay LS 97.1 FM and Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM, where they interacted with disc jockeys and news anchors.

This part of the tour introduced them to the different demands of radio broadcasting. Unlike television, radio depends heavily on voice, pacing, clarity, presence, and connection with listeners. Students saw how broadcasters use sound, timing, and language to inform and engage audiences.

Two TUA students also had the chance to greet listeners and experience live broadcast on-air through the FM station. For freshmen, this was more than a memorable moment. It was an early encounter with the confidence and professionalism required in media work.

Seeing Entertainment Production Through Family Feud

Another major part of the immersion was the students91茄子 observation of the taping of Family Feud. Through this activity, they saw how taped entertainment production is done, from studio setup to audience coordination and host interaction.

Host Dingdong Dantes also acknowledged the TUA students during the program, making the experience even more meaningful for the group.

By watching a taped show production, students gained a better appreciation of how entertainment programs are made. They saw that behind every episode are production teams, technical crews, floor directors, camera operators, writers, hosts, performers, and staff members who work together to create a seamless program for viewers.

Why Industry Immersion Matters

Media is best learned through both study and exposure. Students need theories, concepts, and classroom training, but they also need opportunities to see the industry up close.

This is why industry immersion forms an important part of the learning experience for TUA Communication and Broadcasting students. It helps them understand possible careers in television, radio, journalism, digital media, production, public relations, content creation, advertising, corporate communication, and other related fields.

It also helps them ask deeper questions about their own formation. What kind of communicator do I want to become? What stories should I help tell? How can my skills serve people better? What responsibility comes with media work?

At Trinity University of Asia, these questions are part of the education

A Strong Start for Future Media Practitioners

For incoming first-year students, choosing a Communication or Broadcasting program is also choosing the kind of formation they want to receive.

TUA91茄子檚 BA Communication and BA Broadcasting programs provide students with opportunities to learn through coursework, production activities, faculty guidance, and industry exposure. The GMA Studio Tour showed freshmen that their training can begin with real encounters, real professionals, and real media environments.

They did not have to wait until the end of college to see what the industry looks like. They saw it in their first year.

For students who dream of becoming broadcasters, journalists, producers, writers, hosts, content creators, media planners, public relations practitioners, or communication professionals, TUA offers a learning environment where academic formation and industry exposure work together.

Here, students are trained to communicate with skill, think with clarity, create with purpose, and serve with care.
