Trinity University of Asia Successfully Hosted the 1st PSRTE National Convention

The 1st PSRTE National Convention with the theme 91ӜShaping the Future of Respiratory Therapy Education in the Philippines91ӝ was held successfully last April 5 & 6th, hosted by Trinity University of Asia (TUA) at the Mandell Hall Auditorium through the effort of Dr. Noel S. Tiburcio, Head of Respiratory Therapy at TUA, who happened to be the PSRTE adviser and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the 1st PSRTE National Convention.

The 1st PSRTE National Convention was very successful attended by hundreds of participants nationwide, coming from as far as Davao City, Zamboanga City, Cebu City, Baguio City, Cagayan Province, etc. in both on-site and on-line platform. The Philippine Society of Respiratory Therapy Educators (PSRTE) aims to gather RT educators and students in the country and provides quality lectures and education from expertss of the field.

TUA President Dr. Gisela DA Luna welcomed the participants fully supported by VPAA Dr. Howell T. Ho, VPAF Matilde Asuncion and CAHS Dean Dr. Rufo B. Aggarao. The convention was graced by PRC Commissioner Hon. Dr. Jose Y. Cueto, Jr. who was the Guest of Honor and Plenary Speaker of the convention. Outstanding speakers from various colleges and universities were invited including TUA91әs very own URDC91әs Dr. Ma. Antonia Capili who spoke on the topic 91ӜResearch as a Tool for Professional Development: Fostering Research Culture Among Respiratory Therapy Students and Educators.91ӝ Dr. Noel S. Tiburcio, Head of the Respiratory Therapy Department talked about 91ӜRespiratory Therapy Laws and Ethics in the Philippine91ӝ and 91ӜThe Role of Simulation-based Training in Respiratory Therapy Eduaction.91ӝ Not to be outdone is one of the two student speakers invited, our very own 4th year BS Respiratory Intern, Ms. Camille Arabella Pedere, Deputy Editor of the Trinity Observer who inspiringly talked about 91ӜHow to Hit the Top? Optimizing Learning Potentials for Respiratory Therapy Students.91ӝ

TUA91әs kind generosity and warm hospitality in hosting the event was highly appreciated by the officers of PSRTE and the convention organizers. The officers and volunteers from the Society of Aspiring Respiratory Therapist (SART) did a great job in the smooth and orderly operation of the convention.

What is most satisfying are the words coming from the participants: 91Ӝhow quiet and peaceful TUA91әs campus is?91ӝ 91Ӝhow big and orderly is the university canteen?91ӝ and 91Ӝhow beautiful TUA is?91ӝ In a way, indirectly promoting Trinity University of Asia as a great and beautiful hub of learning and education for learners and teachers.
